In case you are wondering....
..where to stay.
There are a variety of hotels in Inverness, about 20 minutes away; however, the official hotel of the JJYCRS is the Best Western in Leeds, Al, 205-640-5300. It’s only five minutes away; one exit past the Barber Motorsports Speedway.
..about camping facilities.
No camping is allowed during our events at Barber. Sorry.
..if you can bring a guest.
Yes, your guests are welcomed as long as they are the human two-legged type. No animals are allowed on the track grounds. Please let us know ahead of time so we can add their name to the guest list.
..if you can ride your own bike.
If you want to ride your bike, it has to be a Yamaha. This is a Yamaha exclusive school.
..how to register for one of our classes.
You can register over the telephone at 828-337-7495 but will still be required to sign the PDF registration form and fax or email it back to us. You can also register and pay online.
..about the damage deposit.
Only students who are using our bikes are required to pay the $1000 damage deposit. We will refund the entire $1000 damage deposit at the end of day two as long as the bike is returned in the same condition.
..what else is included with registration fees.
Light breakfast foods and a great lunch will be provided both days for all participants. The dinner event at the end of day one is also included in your registration fee. Contact us if you want to bring a guest along to the evening event.
..if there is anything you can do to be better prepared for the school.
One simple thing you can do is get a good night's rest and hydrate yourself well the day prior to your first track day. It gets hot out there...especially when you are wearing full gear.
..what happens if it rains.
We ride....rain or shine. Of course, the track officials have the discretion to close the track in the case of severe weather or lightening. School credit will depend on how much track time has been completed when this call is made by the track officials or Jamie.
..if there is any preparation required for your bike.
If you bring your own Yamaha, you'll need to disconnect the headlights and tail lights; tape up the turn signals or better yet, remove them. We recommend safety wiring the drain plug but this is not mandatory.
..if your tires will be safe enough for track riding.
For your own safety, we require that students have new tires on their bikes or have at least 90% tread depth.
..if our bikes are for sale.
Absolutely! Our bikes are for sale and will be available in December. If you are interested in a low-mileage and very well maintained ride, call us or talk with us at the track. You can place a deposit to hold your choice of bikes at the end of the season.
..when a particular guest instructor will be on hand.
You won't know who the celebrity instructor will be until you arrive at the school. You can count on having ample time to chat with all our champion instructors and there will be an on-sight photographer for that perfect photo op.
..what photographer will be at the school.
Picsofyou.com will be there to take action photos, candid shots and certainly that special photo you'll want with the guest instructor and all our former champions.
..if completion of a JJYCRS two day course will qualify you for an AMA license?
Sorry, it won't.
..how much track time you'll get.
The track time and classroom time are about the same. There are 20-30 minute classroom sessions followed by the same amount of time on the track.
..what size gear to reserve.
Gear is available on a first come....first served basis. If you are wondering what size to reserve, give us a call at 828-337-7495 or send us an email at info@jamiejamesyamaha.com.
..if you have to ride with beginners if you are a racer.
No, everyone will be placed in track groups in accordance with their riding experience and skill level. The ratio is approximately five riders per champion instructor.
..if you can ride your bike and ours.
The answer is YES. You can certainly alternate between your bike and ours but you will be required to pay a damage deposit and the $2000 registration rate instead of the $1800. If you’ve registered to ride your bike and paid your $1800 plus damage deposit, then decide to ride one of our bikes at the track, you will only be charged the extra $200 at that time.
